New Yacht Design and Construction

New yacht construction can be one of life's most rewarding experiences as well as one of the most complex. From concept to commissioning, Yachting Partners International (YPI) co-ordinates the skills of the designer and the technology of the shipyard with the desires of the owner to ensure a custom-designed masterpiece that is unique in every way.

Initial discussions with the owner lead to the preparation of a new yacht design brief and a preliminary specification, followed by the creation of a project team including a naval architect, stylist and interior designer. The owner may then specify a shipyard or YPI may invite a shortlist of yards to tender. YPI will research, review and finally, along with the client, select the best team and the most appropriate shipyard for their particular project. Once the best yard for the construction of the new yacht has been selected, YPI undertakes contract negotiations with its representatives. Final designs and specifications are also seen to by YPI.

During construction YPI will act as the owner's representative, putting in place project engineering, technical supervision and specialists to supervise all matters of classification, safety and contract compliance. This ensures that our clients' new yacht constructions are delivered on time and are designed and constructed within a strict budget, resulting in a minimum amount of hassle and difficulty when the time comes to launch the yacht.
